MAP S.Platis Group is pleased to welcome Monica Ioannidou Polemitis to its executive team. Monica will be leading MAP Innovation Ltd, the Group’s specialised innovation advisory firm, as Chief Executive Officer. This appointment is in line with MAP S.Platis Group’s strategy to remain innovative across its spectrum of operations, as well as address the growing and continuous needs of clients to adapt and innovate so as to remain competitive in the digital age. MAP Innovation aims at supporting existing enterprises as well as start-ups looking to implement innovative practices and procedures, leveraging on the opportunities provided by cutting-edge technology, as well as provide integrated support towards relevant funding opportunities for innovation and initiatives.
Prior to joining MAP S.Platis Group, Monica held the position of Director at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre of Deloitte as well as the position of Director of ARIS A Really Inspiring Space Limited, a Limassol based accelerator hosting and mentoring technology start-ups.
Monica has more than 15 years of experience in Strategy and Innovation Consulting. During this period, she has led engagements for enterprises in various sectors (financial, telecommunications, public and shipping amongst others). She has managed a number of large scale projects sponsored by the European Commission in areas such as renewable energy, open data and innovative educational practices. She has assisted large enterprises innovate and grow by developing internal innovation programmes and/or cooperating with start-ups. She is a key stakeholder in the innovation and start-up ecosystem of Cyprus and has delivered a number of speeches to conferences and trainings to C-level executives on technological trends, case studies and best practices in dealing with the challenges of corporates (incumbents) in an ever changing global environment. She is a contributor to international technology media and an external expert for the European Commission.
Monica holds a BA (Hons) Economics and Politics degree from the University of Essex (UK) and an MSc International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh (UK).
