Panayiotis Omirou is the CEO of MAP Financial Technologies (MAP FinTech), a leading and award-winning regulatory technology provider for the financial services industry.
Prior to joining the MAP S.Platis Group in 2012 as Head of the Information Technology Audit and Support department, Panayiotis held the positions of Enterprise IT Project Manager and IT Manager at Primetel PLC, one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Cyprus.
As a member of the MAP S.Platis Group, Panayiotis has been heavily involved in the setup and management of MAP Fintech. In 2013, he was assigned by the board as this new division’s COO/CTO with the critical role of directing the development of the Polaris platform (MAP FinTech’s flagship product) and managing the company’s operations team. In June 2017, he was appointed as MAP Fintech’s CEO.
During his career, Panayiotis successfully delivered a significant number of projects ranging from basic IT and European Community research assignments to challenging regulatory technology projects that required design precision, compliance accuracy and strict deadlines.
Furthermore, he has demonstrated a successful track record in business management with the transformation of MAP FinTech into an award-winning technology firm under his leadership as CEO.
Panayiotis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Frederic Institute of Technology, Cyprus, and a Master’s in Internet Technologies from the University of Bristol, UK.
He is a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCITP) and a Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA) in Information Technology.
