Monica Ioannidou Polemitis is MAP S.Platis Group Innovation Director and the CEO of MAP Innovation, a strategic consultancy focusing on helping companies remain robust and relevant in the digital age, by leveraging on opportunities provided by technology.
Monica has more than 15 years of experience in Strategy consulting, during which she has led engagements with corporates in the financial, telecommunications, public and shipping sectors among others, while in parallel, she has managed a number of large scale projects sponsored by the European Commission in areas such as renewable energy, open data and innovative educational practices. She has specialized in innovation consulting, assisting large companies adopt innovation by developing internal innovation programmes and/or cooperating with start-ups.
Prior to joining MAP S.Platis Group, she held the position of Director at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre of Deloitte as well as the position of Director of ARIS A Really Inspiring Space Limited, a Limassol-based accelerator hosting and mentoring technology start-ups.
She is a key stakeholder in the innovation and start-up ecosystem of Cyprus and has delivered a number of speeches to conferences and trainings to C-level executives on technological trends, case studies and best practices in dealing with the challenges of corporates (incumbents) in an ever changing global environment.
Monica holds a BA (Hons) Economics and Politics degree from the University of Essex (UK) and an MSc International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh (UK). She is fluent in English and Greek, has a working knowledge of Spanish and basic knowledge of Hebrew. She is an external expert for the European Commission.
